A.C. Wade, age 88, of Alma passed away suddenly at the Bacon County Hospital on Friday, June 17, 2016. He was born on May 25, 1928 to the late Peyton L. and Mamie (Sweat) Wade. A.C. was preceded in death by five brothers: Marvin, Clayton, J. D. Harold and Vernon Wade and three sisters: Jessie Mae Carter, Leola Smith and Luna White.
He retired from Scapa Dryers (Voight) after 38 years. In the past he has served his community as an auxiliary policeman, volunteer fireman and an ambulance driver; also he was a Charter member of Southside Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dewayne Hughes Wade of Alma, two children, Andy Wade (Kim Griffin) of Manor, GA. and Leah Wade (Stephen) Curtis of Vidalia, GA., two sisters Arlene Good and Alma of Bonnie Brooks of Thomson, GA., four grandchildren, Andria Snyder (Caleb) and Erin Hartigan (Ben) of Bellevue, NE., Jason Curtis and Stacey Curtis of Atlanta, GA. one step granddaughter, Mindy Lawson of Manor, GA., two great grandchildren Mackenzie Wade and Makayla Hartigan both of Bellevue, NE. and two step great grandchildren, Baylee and Anthony Lawson of Manor, GA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20th at 11:00 AM at Southside Church of God with Rev. Mark Carver, Rev. Jimmy Lord and Rev. Steve Hughes officiating.
Interment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 9 PM

Active pallbearers will be; Ronnie Smith, Ronald Wade, Ray White, Windell Smith, Lynn Porter and Danny Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be; Hardees's Breakfast Group, Abe and Barbara Richardson and Gerald & Daphne Wooden.
