Aleph Dixon Peacock, age 94, of Mershon passed away August 18th after a short illness. She was a native of Pierce but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. Aleph was daughter of the late Thomas J. Dixon and Florie Sanders Dixon; she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny A. Peacock, a son, Johnny (Burt) Peacock and six brothers, Earlish, Wilbur, Thomas J. Jr., Marvin, Claude and Simon Dixon. She was a member of Coffee Wesleyan Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice P. Burnette (Howard), daughter-in-law, Sandra Peacock, two grandchildren, Lynn Moore (Ray) and Timmy Peacock (Wendy) of Mershon, five great grandchildren, Lacey Robson (Michael), Kearington Moore, Barrett Moore, Jaylen and Bailey Peacock, one nephew, Euvie Lynn (Peggy) of Waycross.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22nd at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Rainey and Rev. R C Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Winston Miles, Ed Barber, Bobby Wayne Hart, Ray Moore, Bruce Burnette and Timmy Peacock. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
