Anne S. Wheeler, age 65, of Alma died at her home Wednesday evening July 3rd, 2013 after an extended illness. Se was a native of Coffee County, but; had lived in Bacon County since 1972, daughter of the late James Fisher Strickland and Dorothy Kellogg Strickland. Anne was retired from the Georgia Public Health System as a Clinical Nutritionist after 32 years of employment and a member of the Alma United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Randy Wheeler of Alma, two sons, Jay Wheeler and wife Lori Davis Wheeler of Durham, N C, Jim Wheeler and wife Amber of Alma, three brothers, Jim Strickland (Barbara) of Canton, GA, John Strickland (Nancy) of Henderson, N C, Joe Strickland (Julie) of Statesboro, GA, a sister, Terri Cole (Steve) of Marietta, GA, a grand daughter, Azalee Marie Wheeler of Alma and a niece, Anna Cole of Marietta, GA.
Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 o'clock at Pine Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Tony Crosby officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between 6 and 8 P M. Donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at www.ovrf.org or to the Alma United Methodist Church Children's Ministry.
All those in attendance will be considered as honorary pallbearers.
