Arthur Nell Johnson Miller, age 85, of Alma died at the Bacon County Hospital Friday afternoon March 1st, 2013 after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late James Arthur Johnson and Lois Lee Johnson and was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Delmer Miller, a daughter, Angela Miller Pittman, two brothers, Jerry Mack Johnson, Harrell Eugene (Harry) Johnson and two infant sisters. Arthur Nell was a member of the Alma First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lois Simmons and husband Robert J. of Alma, a sister, Dawn Johnson and husband Terry Wayne of Alma, two grandchildren, Michelle Smith and Robert W. Simmons both of Alma. Also nine great-grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 o'clock at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Johnson and Brother Daniel Eason officiating. Interment will follow in Old Pine Grove Church Cemetery. The Body will be carried to the church at 10:00 A M Tuesday to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be, David Harrell Lee, Sr., David Lee, Jr., Chad Johnson, Dwight Smith, Roy T. Boatright and Steve Lee. Honorary will be, Jenny Burnette, Carol Newberry, Lynette Moore, Londie Mims, Cathy Lee, Marie Carter and Dr. Harrison Carter. Also others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
