Artie N. "Junior" Hersey, Jr, of Nicholls passed away August 31, 2023 at his residence after an extended illness.  He was a native of Ware County and son of the late Artie Hersey, Sr. and Ruth Naomi Nettles Hersey. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Hersey and Oswald Hersey.

Mr. Hersey served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include brother, Curtis Hersey of Waycross; sister, Mary Bagley of Bickley; aunt Marie Mims of Hazlehurst and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. David Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be; Matthew Bagley, Ricky Waters, Benji Hersey, Curtis Hersey, Jr., Jack Hamilton and Joshua Hersey. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
