Barbara A. (Bobbie) Mercer, age 78, of Alma passed away Monday, October 6th at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Griffin, Georgia but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. Bobbie was daughter of the late Emmett Goen and Doris Bethea Goen and preceded in death by a son Ronnie Lee Mercer and a sister Pat Moore.

Survivors include three sons, Lonnie Mercer (Tammy), Jimmy Mercer (Connie) and James Mercer all of Alma, two sisters, Evelyn Lassiter of Walterboro, SC. and Becky Joyner of Charleston, SC., seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7th at 2:00 PM at Wesley Chapel (Wolf Pit) Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. John Thomas and Pastor Jackie Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Dusty, Cody, Kyle and Andrew Mercer, Cam MacKenzie and John Paul Boyd. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
