Barbara "Bobby" Vonier, age 86 of Alma passed away on October 26, 2017 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mrs. Vonier was born on December 5, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John Oliver Underwood and Alma Melinda Bulloch Underwood. Her husband Randall C. Vonier preceded her in death. She was a Member of the 1948 Advertising Advisory Board for Seventeen Magazine, graduated from Fayetteville High School in Fayeteville, N.C. in 1948, and attended West Georgia College from 1948-1950 where she was named Miss West Georgia in 1950.

Attended UGA from 1950-1952 where she was a Member of the Alpa Omicron Pi Sorority; while at UGA she met Randall Vonier whom she would marry on August 26, 1951; she was also a member of Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children Randy Vonier (Trudy) of Alma, Scott Vonier (Sally) of Acworth, GA. and Vicki Barber (Gene) of Kingsland, GA., a sister, Harriett Gritzke of Alma; also 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 29 ^th from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Chuck Vonier, Will Vonier, Pierce Vonier, Thomas Vonier, Chip Hyers and Jimmy Bentley. Honorary pallbearers will be; Sandra Peacock, Mark and Pam Johnson and Rudene Paulk.
