Barney McCoy Crosby, Jr. age, 85, of Alma passed away December 13, 2022 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Crosby was born in Alma to the late Barney McCoy Crosby, Sr. and Lillie Dixon Crosby. He served in the US Army, was retired from the Alma Post Office after 37 years and was a lifelong member of the Alma United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, J. C. Crosby, sister Nell C. Copeland and son-in-law, Hudson Smith.

Mr. Crosby is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nadine Cothern Crosby of Alma; two children, Steve Crosby and Paula of Douglas and Angie Smith of Alma; two brothers, Roy D. Crosby and Linda and Michael T. Crosby and Patsy Harrell of Alma; two sisters, Jean Meeks of Jacksonville, FL. and Joyce DeLoach of Alma; five grandchildren, Clint Crosby and Cari Jo, Cody Crosby and Kim, Channing Deen and Brandon, Trenton Smith and Megan and Miranda Leggett and Justin; also 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Clint Crosby, Cody Crosby, Justin Leggett, Trenton Smith, Brandon Deen and Don Cothern.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangemens.
