Benny "Ronnie" Meeks, age 70, of Alma passed away on July 31, 2017 at St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida after a short illness. He was born in Alma on December 9, 1946 to the late Elbert Meeks and Ethel Taylor Meeks. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three grandsons, Cody Smith, Hunter Martin and Jacob Martin, a brother, Javon Meeks and three sisters, Jerri Fiske, Vonell Edge and Faye Spalding.

Mr. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Carol Meeks, of Alma, five sons, Benji Meeks (Regina), Michael Meeks, Mojo Meeks (Sharanda) and John Meeks all of Alma and Mitchell Meeks (Heather) of Fayetteville, NC., three daughters, Tina Smith of Destin, FL., Ilene Lauer (Frank) of Italy and Renee Martin of Alma, one sister, Linda Taylor of Willacoochee, GA.; also 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3 ^rd at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. T.F. Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be; Rodney Peoples, Kevin Peoples, Tony Cothren, Cricket Taylor, Shane Smith and Chris Meeks. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary escorts.
