Bernice Hughes Hollingsworth, age 86, of Alma went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 30, 2017. She was born on January 7, 1931 in Alma, Georgia to the late Jim I. Hughes and Irene Douglas Hughes, besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Waymon Darwell Hollingsworth, two sisters, Pauline Westberry and Audrey Crothers, two brothers, Devereaux Hughes and Loran Hughes. She was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two children, Nickey Hollingsworth and Elondia Carter (Bentley) of Alma, one sister, Dewayne Wade of Alma, sister-in-law, Darthalyn Hughes of Alma; also 4 grandchildren, Nichole Poore of Jesup, Shawn Hollingsworth and Kyle Carter of Alma and Hannah Mayers of St. Simons Island and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3rd at 11:00 AM at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hughes and Rev. Josh Horton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Shawn Hollingsworth, Kyle Carter, Cameron Mayers, Donnie Westberry, Jack Wildes and Brian Dixon. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
