Bernice Holton, age 82, of Alma died Thursday June 12th, 2014 at St. Vincent Community Hospice in Jacksonville after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Dan Taylor and Kate Taylor Taylor and was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Roberts of Alma, Sherry King (Charles) of Waycross, a brother, Donald Taylor (Ina) of Jacksonville, four grandchildren, Reese Hyers (Heather) of Valdosta, Brooke Hyers of Atlanta, Cierra and Logan King of Waycross, a great-grandchild Jillian Hyers of Valdosta.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Bryant Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 9:30 AM Saturday until funeral time at 10:30. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to the Bacon County Hospital Foundation in honor of Bernice and the nursing home project. Active pallbearers will be, Reese Hyers, Charles King, Brandon Carter, Blake Taylor, Byron Taylor and J. E. Beverly. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
