Bernice Odom, age 81, of Jacksonville, FL died Friday February 24th, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a native of Appling County, had lived several years in Scuffle Town before moving to Jacksonville 51 years age. She was daughter of the late Kermit Moody and Lillian Moody Moody and was also preceded in death by 2 sisters Wilma Roberts and Katherine Moody and a brother Lamar (Big'n) Moody.
Survivors include seven daughters Lois LaNell Odom, Shirley Ann Boone (Danny), Willie Jean Jesse, Lillian Lynn Odom all of Fernandina Beach, FL, Kathy Ann Epperly, Bernice Ann Robbins (Rick) and Marchell Jennett Odom all of Jacksonville, FL a sister in law, Pawnee Moody of Jacksonville, FL, 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 o'clock at Martha Memorial Church and Cemetery in Pierce County with Rev. Danny Boone officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church Wednesday at 1:00 P M to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 an 9 P M.
Active pallbearers will be; Rick Robbins, Gabe Boone, Jamie Epperly, Durant Lumpkin, Jackie Moody and John Spence. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
