Betty Jean Peacock Boatright, age 86 of Alma, passed away Sunday January 21, 2018 in the Bacon Co. Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Live Oak, Florida, the daughter of the late Rosley Efficer Peacock and Mary Lillian Rimes Peacock, a member of New Hope Southern Congregational Methodist Church, and the Bacon Co. Retired Teachers Association. She was also preceded in death by her husband Glen Edsel Boatright, great-granddaughter Angel Wade, and sister Duane Deen.

Survivors include son Keith Boatright (Faye) of Alma, daughters Sherri Godwin (Cecil Jr.) of Alma, Glenise Wade (Dorsey) of Alma, and Kara Jones (Patrick) of Blackshear, a sister Teleen Corty of Livermore, California, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and special family friends Jeanette and Wanell Parker, Pauline Turner, Phyllis McDonald, Jenny Harden, and Cindy Waters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2PM at New Hope Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Pet Hayes and Rev. Robert Varnadore officiating, with eulogies given by Jenna and Jade Jones. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Crosby Funeral Home Tuesday night from 6-8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Robert Sapp, Donald Eason, Joey Buckholts, Milton Wade, Clay Wade, Kevin Godwin, Roy T. Hospital Staff, and Twin Oaks Nursing Home Staff.
