Betty Wade Crowder, age 84, of Alma went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born in Alma, Georgia on October 23, 1932 to the late Carl Wade and Beulah Lee Peacock Wade. Her husband Ernest Namon Crowder, two grandchildren, Kevin Dan Boatright and Waylon Boatright, a brother Bo Wade,  a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Harrell (Troy) and two brothers-in-law, Bill Coggin and Gilbert Cothern preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Alma First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Betty is survived by three children, Ronnie Crowder (Irene), Linda Boatright (Dan) and June Alderman (David) all of Alma, two brothers, Bobby Ray Wade (Jurney) of Hilliard, FL. and Teddy Wade (Debbie) of Waycross, GA., two sisters, Eula Matthews (Herman) of Alma and Barbara Ann Coggin of Waycross a sister-in-law, Anne Wade of Hilliard, FL.; also 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 11 ^th at 1:30 PM at Cornith Free Will Baptist Church and funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Dr. Raymond Teston and a eulogy given by David James Alderman. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; David James Alderman, Daniel Alderman, Aaron Alderman, Vance Crowder, Grant Schaffer and Daniel Schaffer. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
