Betty Gene Hughes, age 72, of Alma died Friday February 24th, 2017 after an extended illness. She was daughter of the late David Alex Godwin and Jessie Mae Allen Godwin and was also preceded in death by a son Terry Lee Rewis, two brothers Ronnie and Dale Godwin and a sister Evelyn Harris. Betty worked for Oxford for many years.

Survivors include a son Ricky Carthell Rewis (Marie) of Alma, two daughters Brandy Youngblood of Alma and Tabatha Harris of Callahan, FL, three brothers Charles Godwin of Callahan, FL, Phillip Godwin of Nahunta, GA, Jerry Godwin of Jacksonville, FL, five sisters Jessie Medders, Wanda Anderson and Karen Story of Alma, Shirley Ann Medders of Reidsville and Kathy Burkett of Douglas, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday evening between 6 and 8 P M.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
