Betty J. Boatright, age 80, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Thursday, January 28th at Haven Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida after an extended illness. She was a native of Alma but had lived in Jacksonville, FL. for many years. Betty was daughter of the late Thomas J. Strickland and Ruby Music Strickland and preceded in death by her husband Earnest Boatright, five brothers, Joffery Hulon, Dick, Ronnie and Donnie Strickland and a stepson Johnny B. Boatright.
Survivors include her fiancé, Richard Neeld of Jacksonville, FL, four stepsons, Ronnie Boatright and Jerry Boatright of Alma, Daniel Neeld and John Neeld of Jacksonville, FL., two step daughters, Christina Szortyka and Reney Rush of Jacksonville, FL., one sister, Linda Strickland and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 31st at 2:00 PM at Carter's Chapel Church with Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Carter's Chapel one hour before the funeral.
Active pallbearers will be; Daniel Neeld, John Neeld, Mitchell Neeld, J.P. Webster and James Hammett.. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
