Betty Jo Streat, age 78, of Nicholls passed away suddenly August 21, 2024 at Memorial Satilla Hospital after an extended illness. She was born February 25, 1946 in Coffee County to Harvey Taylor and Ollie Taylor. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Merlon Taylor, Jim Taylor, Cecil Tanner and Shorty Taylor and sisters, Rita Mae Johnson, Margaret Meeks, Eula Mae Meeks, Sarah Frances Taylor and Eloise Tanner.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dewayne Streat, sons, Wendell Streat (Kathy), Brian Streat (Margie) and Cary Streat (Aggie), daughter, Paige Wood (Dale), eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Meeks Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Lance Wood, Keithen Wingate, Ryan Streat, Dillon Groover, Mark Wood, Phillip Smith, Joseph Davis and Josh Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Alma Dialysis, Pat Lott and Staff, Linda Varnadore, Bobbi Waters and all others in attendance.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
