Betty Taylor, age 81, of Alma passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 after a short illness. Mrs. Betty was born in Bacon County on January 28, 1939 to John Wesley Johnson and Dorothy Mae Meeks Johnson. Her husband D. C. Taylor, brothers, Lavern Johnson and Roy Pete Johnson and two sisters Mary Sue Chappell and Deannie Ellis preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of Wesley Chapel "Wolf Pit" Church and was retired from Bacon County Elementary School Lunchroom after 30 years.
Survivors include her children, Cindy R. Turner (Danny), Denny C. Taylor (Cathy) and Leon Taylor (Terry) of Alma, brother, Larry Johnson, sister-in-law, Verlene Johnson of Alma, four grandchildren, Kristen Bland (Daniel) of Tallahassee, FL., Colby Turner, Caroline and Emma Taylor of Alma, five great-grandchildren, Lily Smith Turner, Dylan and Hinley Turner, Avery and Brady Bland, special friends, Edison & Myrtice Deen and Wilda Rea Lewis of Alma, her church family and also her Georgia Hospital Association and Bacon County Hospital family.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, April 10 th at 11:00 AM at Wolf Pit Cemetery with Rev. Danny Turner and Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating.
