IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billy Virgil
Gaskins
February 17, 1933 – June 12, 2025
Billy Virgil Gaskins, age 92, of Alma, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025. Born in Nashville, Georgia, on February 17, 1933 to Eddie Virgil Gaskins and Ruby Luke Gaskins. Billy moved to Alma with his family at the age of two and was raised by Richard and Mary Ellen Vickers due to the death of his parents. He spent the remainder of his life in the community he loved.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Billy spent his career as a commercial truck driver and farmer. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, deep sense of responsibility, and quiet strength. He was also a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church, where his faith and commitment to others shone brightly.
Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eugenia J. Haselden Gaskins; his son-in-law, Carl Miller; and his brothers Henry Gaskins, F. B. Gaskins, Hershel Gaskins, Loren Gaskins, Marcus Gaskins (Ruth), and an infant brother and sister. He is survived by his four children: Bishop R. B. Gaskins (Teresa), Gail Lowe (David), Faye Miller, and Mary Ann Culbreath (Rick); 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. His legacy continues through the lives he touched — as a father, friend, neighbor, and man of faith.
Billy's life was a testament to humility, devotion, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
