Billy Hugh Taylor, age 70, of Alma passed away on April 15th at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Oswell Taylor and Gladys Tanner Taylor. Billy was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Carter and Lutricel Taylor and two brothers, Marlow and Johnny Taylor. Billy retired from Milliken after 46 years of employment and served in the US Army during Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife of 48years, Judy Miller Taylor, two sons, Todd (Christy) and Cory Taylor all of Alma, three brothers, Roy Taylor, Quillion Taylor (Sandra) and Ray Taylor (Sheila) of Alma and a sister, Faye Schoppee (Ron) of Douglas, two grandchildren, Carson and Lexie Taylor of Alma, brother in law, Burtis Carter of Alma and sister in law, Evelyn Taylor of Nicholls
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 P M at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Brown and Rev. Randy Rowell officiating. A eulogy will be delivered by David Morrison. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church Saturday at 1:00 o'clock to lie in state until funeral time. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between 6 and 9 P M.
Active pallbearers will be, David McCarty, Johnny Wheeler, Winston Miles, Bobby Boatright, Mac Douglas and Max Tillman. Honorary will be, members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class at Pine Level, Class Mates of 1963, Shawn Sheppard and Home Health Care Nurses, employee's past and present of Milliken.
