Obituary

Bobby Taylor, age 66, of Nicholls passed away suddenly at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Coffee County, son of the late Marvin Taylor and Thelma Lee Cox Taylor and preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Taylor, an infant sister and brother, Betty Jean Taylor and Marvin Edward Taylor, three grandchildren, Eric & Ashely Johnson and Kayla Kirkland. Bobby was retired from CSX Railroad.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Julienne Knowles Taylor, three sons, Chad Taylor, Kevin Kirkland (Melissa) and Kevin Kirkland II of Nicholls, six daughters, Tami Eason (Toby) of Waycross, JoAnn Thomas & Karen Kilgore (David) of Vidalia, Teressa Taylor (Toby) of Alma, Stacie & Alyssa Kirkland of Nicholls, one brother, Harold Taylor (Ginger) of Nicholls, sister, JoAnn Anderson of Alma and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 5th at 2:00 PM at Alma Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Stanley Tanner, Bro. David Capps, Sister Lynn Music and Bro. Scott Hatten officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 PM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Kevin & Anthony Kirkland, Aaron Giles, Lee Harrison, Sammy Walton, Steven Slaughter, Travis Thomas and Noah Carter. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
