Bonnie Lucille Carter, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2026, after an extended illness. She was born in Coffee County March 28, 1941, to the late John Daniel McLemore and Linnie Streat McLemore. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Billy, and Eldridge McLemore and her sister, Mary Johnson.

She was a member of the Nicholls Church of God of Prophecy for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Noah Melvin Carter; her sons, Melvin and Mark Carter; daughters, Marie Mathis (Brad) of Tucson, AZ, Marsha Waters (Eddie) of Toccoa, GA, and Pearlie Ellis of Alma; her sister, Judy Williams of Alma; sister-in-law, Charlene McLemore; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 21, 2026, at 11 AM at Nicholls Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Joe Brookshire, Rev. Hugh Anderson and Rev. Rob Chavis officiating. Interment will follow at Roxie Mae Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 AM until service time.

Active pallbearers include Ryan Carter, Cody Carter, Hunter Ellis, Justin Schuman, Ethan Hopkins, and Abram Anderson. All others in attendance will be considered honorary pallbearers.
