Braswell Deen Hayes, age 90, passed away January 28, 2026, at the Pavilion in Baxley, GA after a short illness. He was born in Bacon County May 26, 1935, to the late Ira Hayes and Mamie Thomas Hayes. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Branch; three grandchildren, Breelynn Maddox Tanner, Eloise Bennett Tanner, and infant Tanner; and his brother, Denny Ray Hayes.

He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Angie Walker (Hank) of Hazlehurst and Tamala Olague (Rudy) of Gloucester, VA; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2 PM at Wolf Pit Church Cemetery with Rev. David Deen officiating.
