Brenda Guthrie Gillis, age 72, of Nicholls died Wednesday Dec. 4 ^th at the McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Marilyn Futch Guthrie. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Gaston Walden.

Ms. Gillis was born in Duvall Co. Florida and a member of Nicholls Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years Lonnie Gaston Gillis, three daughters Beth Priddle (Scott) of Lisbon, Maine, Ellen Trowell (Bruce) of Nicholls, and Ella Martin (Chris) of Richmond, Virginia, one brother James William Guthrie (Jan) of Eatonton, Georgia. Six grand children and one great grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday December 8 ^th at 2 PM at the Nicholls Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Internment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday night from 6-9PM.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Martin, Hunter Martin, Kody Priddle, Scott Priddle, Jim Linton, and Bruce Trowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Priddle, Mike Martin, Tyler Walden, and members of Nicholls Baptist Church.
