Brenda Carol Parrish, age 61, of Alma passed away August 26, 2023 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was born May 17, 1962 in Jacksonville, Florida but had lived most of her life in Bacon County. She was preceded in death by her parents John Ervin Hester and Barbara Jean Hodge; brother Steve Wayne Hester and sister Wanda Hammond.

Mrs. Parrish was a member of First African Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, James Parrish;  four daughters Cinceria Brown (Maldonado), Terry Brown Miley (Tyrone) and Brenda Lee Carter (Swede) and  Belinda Rogers (Bret) Douglas; brothers John Henry Hester and William Mark Hester; sisters Carol Sue Skipper and Kathleen Wilson; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Stephon Deen officiating. Cremation will follow the service.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
