Brenda Joyce Waters, age 76, passed away at Bacon County Hospital on August 4, 2025, after a short illness. She was born in Bacon County on January 06, 1949, to the late Willis Phillip "W.P." Pennington and Oline Davis Pennington. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Phillip Pennington; twin sisters at birth and nephew, Baby Pennington.

She was a member of Southside Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bobby Gene Waters; one son, Ken Waters of Alma; two daughters, Kimberly Crosby and Kerissa Norris, both of Alma; six grandchildren, Brody Crosby (Erica), Brent Crosby (Haley), Trent Crosby, Triniti Crosby, Jenna Hewitt (Fletcher) and Madi Norris; four great-grandchildren, Lydia, Lakelynn, Zayleigh, and Everleigh Crosby; sister, June Medders (Charlie) of Alma; sister-in-law, Linda Pennington.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10 AM at Southside Church of God with Pastor David Deen and Bishop R. B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 9 AM until service time.

Active pallbearers include Brody Crosby, Brent Crosby, Trent Crosby, Fletcher Hewitt, Matthew Schell, Cameron Whitley, and Peyton Bowman.

All in attendance will be considered honorary pallbearers.
