Fredrick (Buddy) Hersey, age 72, of Nicholls died early Saturday morning November 11 ^th , 2017 at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Coffee County, son of the late William Roe Hersey and Vivian Murray Hersey and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Candis Cheri Hersey, a brother James Roe Hersey, a nephew Sam Heape. Buddy was a commercial truck driver for many years before retiring.

Survivors include three sons Ricky Hersey (Barbara) of Nicholls, Randy Hersey (Cindy) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Eddie Creamer of Nicholls, a daughter Connie Whitley (Barry) of Nicholls, four brothers David Hersey (Barbara) of Broxton, William Paul Hersey (Beth) of Nicholls, Howard Hersey (Diane) of Beach Island, S C, Chester Hersey of the State of North Carolina, three sisters Delores Strickland (J B) of Elberton, Ga, Wannell Heape of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Gillis (Bouncer) Phoenix City, AL, four grandchildren Abram Hersey, Jarred Spivey, Clayton and Jayda Creamer, one great-grand Kamdyn Johnson and a special aunt Gladeen Murray of Axon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 o'clock at Jowers Holliness Baptist Church with Rev. H P Murray and Rev. David Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Roxie Mae Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening between 6 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 P M Tuesday to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be Matthew, Michael, Blake and William Hersey, James Yarberry and Kevin Harvey. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
