Johnny Burtrien (Burt) Peacock, age 64 of Mershon died at his home Monday afternoon May 13th, 2013 after a short illness. He was a native of Ware County but had lived in Bacon County most of his life. He was son of the late Johnny A Peacock, was a member of Coffee Wesleyan Church and worked as a carpenter; building custom cabinets and furniture.
Survivors include his mother, Aleph Elaine Dixon Peacock of Mershon, his wife of 43 years, Sandra Howell Peacock of Mershon, a son Timmy Peacock and wife Wendy of Mershon, a daughter, Lynn Moore and husband Ray of Blackshear, a sister, Janice P. Burnette and husband Howard of Mershon, five grandchildren, Lacey Robson (Michael) Kearington Moore, Barrett Moore all of Blackshear, Jaylen and Bailey Peacock both of Mershon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Rainey and Rev. J W Womble officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 P M.
Active pallbearers will be, Darren Lee, Phillip White, Terry Medders, Bruce Burnette, Richard Foskey, Richard Robson and Donnie White. Honorary will be, Patterson High School Class of 1966, Glenn Moore, Keith Taylor, John Summerlin and Warren Johnston.
