Carl Edward Rowland, age 73, of Alma passed away Monday, July 20th at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Emanuel County but had lived in Bacon County for many years. Carl was son of the late Bland T. Rowland and Sudie Nunn Rowland and preceded in death by a brother Howard Rowland. He retired from the FAA after many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alma.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Linda Hutto Rowland of Alma, two daughters, Michele Dunn (Wesley) of Atlanta and Marty Edwards (Mike) of Honduras, one brother, Leon Rowland (Betty Jean) of Alma and three grandchildren, Tyler Theus (Kerlyn) of Providence, Rhode Island, Makenzie Rowland of Atlanta and Madison Moore of Baton Rouge, LA.

A memorial services will be held Friday, July 24th at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Johnson officiating.The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1:00 PM until funeral time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund 301 West 9th Street Alma, GA. 31510 or the BMDMI 11 Plaza Drive Hattiesburg, MS. 39403.
