Carol Jean Meeks Stewart, age 74, of Alma passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her residence after a short illness. She lived in Woodstock, Georgia for 40 years before moving to Alma in 2017. Carol was daughter of the late H.T. Meeks and Virginia Moody Meeks and preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Charles and Goodrich Meeks.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William Leon Stewart of Alma, two children, Jeffrey "Jeff" Stewart and wife Michelle of Cumming, GA. and Sharon Stewart Eckard and husband Nicolaas of Geraldton, Western Australia, a sister, Mary Alice Meeks Herndon of Connecticut, six grandchildren, Robert Allen Wilson, Shelby Jean McTyre, Jonothon Howard, Taylor Ramsey, Chandler and Logan Stewart and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24 ^th at 11:00 AM at Westside Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Bennett and Rev. Tim Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Stewart Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between 6 and 9 PM.
