Carolyn Carter Nall, age 75, of Big Creek Church Road Alma, died suddenly at her home Saturday December 29th, 2012. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Joseph Roy Carter and Freddie Wade Carter and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby James (Billy) Courson, Sr, and Cary Nall, a brother, Joe Carter. Carolyn was retired from Satilla R E M C after 42 years of employment and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Courson, Jr. and wife, Casandra of St. Mary's, a stepson, Kenneth Wayne Nall and wife Sabrinna of Broxton, two daughters, Sheila Courson Whitley and husband Lonny of Alma, Lisa Courson of Baxley, a brother, Benny Carter of Alma. Also 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 31st at 2:00 o'clock at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Stone, Rev. Tommy Davis and Rev. Mark Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 P M Monday to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 9 P M.
Active pallbearers will be, Lake Nall, Brice Courson, Kyle Whitley, Chad Carter, Rusty Sears, Joseph Carter and Lynn Overstreet. Honorary will be, Big Creek Adult Sunday School Class, Satilla R E M C employee's past and present.
