Carolyn Sweat Taylor, age 77, of Alma passed away December 22, 2021 at the Bacon County Hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late Archie Sweat and Pearlie Mae Corbit Sweat. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marlow Taylor and daughter Kimberly Lane Taylor Alexander, grandson, Kendall Medders, great grandchild, Analiah Ellison; brothers, W.L. Taylor, Billy Taylor and daughter in law, Deborah Kaye Medders Taylor. She was lifelong member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include eight children, Greg M. Taylor (Michelle) of Hazlehurst, Dale Taylor (Teresa) of Lauren, SC., John David "J.D." Taylor (Pam) of Hazlehurst, Michael Clarence Moore of Alma, Lamar Moore of Thonotosassa, FL., Regina Andrews (Odell), Anna Gilbreth (Wayne) and Julie Moore of Alma; one brother, Buddy Sweat (Amy) of Tampa; three sisters, Dorothy Boyett of Alma, Norma Gail Davis (Jimmy) of Waycross and Jean "Doley" Taylor of Gainesville; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Bishop R. B. Gaskins and Bro. Dale Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12:30 PM until funeral time. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Elisha Barnes, Johnny Boyett, Greg Taylor, Jr., Aaron Taylor, Christopher Taylor and Victor Cooper. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
