Caryl Jean Hayes, age 68, of Alma passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. Born in Bacon County on March 1, 1953 to Perdie Boatright and Macy Howell Boatright.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hoyt Boatright, Martus Boatright, Drexel Boatright and Larry Boatright and sister, Lawanda Boatright. Survivors include close friend and prayer partner, Wendell Hayes; three children, Toby Reeves, Alicia Gray (Berry) and Melissa Taylor (Jason) of Alma; brother, Ronald Boatright; sister, Linda Peacock (Freddie) of Alma; five grandchildren, Sam & Madi Taylor, Braden Kildow, Ren Reeves and Daniel Gray.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at New Lacy Church of God with Rev. Jason Hayes and Rev. James Lightsey officiating. Melissa Taylor will give a personal eulogy. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church Wednesday from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Sam Taylor, Braden Kildow, Matthew Turner, Daniel Gray, Garrett Wood and Drew Tanner. Honorary pallbearers will be her puppies, Yoti, Nilla and Splinter.

Mask and social distancing will be required at the service.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
