Charles Smith, age 77, of Alma died suddenly early Saturday morning March 16, 2013 at the Bacon County Hospital. He was a native of Coffee County but had lived in Bacon County since 1971. Charles was son of the late Charles Smith and Elizabeth Arnold Smith and was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, infant twins and L D Smith. He was self employed as owner and operator of Smith Printing Service and was a member of Grace Chapel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Brigmond Smith of Alma, 2 sons, Kit Smith (Valerie) of Key West, FL, Gene Smith of Brunswick, 2 daughters, Bonnie Quiceno (Arbey) of Miami andMelinda Lee of Jasper, Ga. 4 brothers, Bascom and James Smith of Ft. Myers, Colin Smith of Axson and Johnny Smith of Melrose, FL, 2 sisters, Pauline Corbitt, Irene Courson of Ft. Myers, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 o'clock at Grace Chapel Church with Rev. Billy Mac Dyal and Rev. Jack Nettles officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery in Nicholls. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to the church Monday at 1:00 P M to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be, Elton, Wayne and Bobby Smith, Chris Bagley, Alwayne Hulsey and David Davis. Honorary will be, Jason Gilliard, Gary Graham and all others in attendance.
