Christeene C. Medders, age 85, of Alma passed away Monday, March 16th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of late Thomas Marvin Cain and Nora Mercer Cain. Christeene was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey F. Medders, Sr. and two grandchildren Gannon and Bradley Orr. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Aubrey "Jr." Medders (Melanie), Johnny Medders and Danny Medders (Sherry) of Alma and Gary Medders (Ellie) of Hazlehurst, four daughters, Erma Jean Orr, Libby Lasseter (David) and Ann Medders (Eckart Hentschel) of Alma and Kay Medders of Hazlehurst, 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a special cousin Ruth Musgrove of Canton, GA.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 19th at 2:00 PM at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Nettles and Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 PM to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be; Brent Lasseter, Morris Chaffin, Tracey Medders, John T. Lasseter, Josh & Jake Allday, Ridge Lewis and Elex Medders. Honorary pallbearers will be; David & Sara Roberts, Jack & Barbara Nettles, Dr. Harrison Carter & Staff, Mary Turner, Advantage Home Care, In Home Respiratory, Bacon County Hospital Nursing Staff and Punk Simmons.
