Christopher Jared Wood, age 45, of Alma passed away October 22, 2022, at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was born September 22, 1977, in Ware County. He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Wood and brother, Kevin Shawn Wood.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Taylor Wood and stepfather, Rodney Dixon of Alma; three stepchildren Austin Woodrow Joyner of Alma, Kayla Hilliard (Justin) of Browntown and Jessica Alexander of Douglas; sister, Keasha Register (J.T.); niece and nephew, Shea Sellers and Marcus Sellers of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Bro. Warnie Nettles officiating. Interment will follow in Meeks Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Ricky Carter, Christopher Carter, Aaron Anderson, Nathan Cato, Ashton and J. T. Register. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
