Clara Carter, age 81 of Alma passed away March 13, 2022 at Harborview Nursing Home in Blackshear after an extended illness. Born in Pierce County on July 23, 1940 to A.J.  "Ander" Strickland and Mary Aspinwall Strickland. She was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Carter; brothers, Cecil Strickland, A.J. Strickland and Sonny Strickland and sisters, Bernice Strickland, Lois Taylor, Alene Turner and Mary Lee Morris. Survivors include three daughters, Denise Carter, Angie Carter and Sonja Carter; sister, Betty Tillman and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services were held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Ten Mile Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Gill officiating.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
