Cleon A. Carver, age 93, life long resident of Bacon County, but had lived in West Green the last few years passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Bacon County on February 13, 1928 to Thomas Jefferson Carver and Bathsheba Ellis Carver. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a life long member of Liberty Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Carver Altman, grandson, Jameson Carver, six brothers, Ira, T. J., Frank, Warren, James and Elmer Carver and four sisters, Marie Yawn, Ollie Wadkins, Senella Zuckerman and Ludie Meeks.  Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Juanelle Williams Carver of West Green, three sons, Joey Carver of Nicholls, Dale Carver (Leslie) of Carrollton, Jeffery Carver of Alma; two daughters, Karen Carver Wilcox (Michael) of Hazlehurst and Debra Carver of Douglas; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Church of God with Rev. Leon Guess, Dr. Dale Carver and Rev. Brett Roberts officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 11:30 AM until funeral time. Interment will follow at Mims Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Travis Carver, Brett Roberts, Luke Carver, Adam Carver, Andy Hayes and Randy Altman. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
