Cona Faye Britt Meeks, age 83, of Alma passed away December 30, 2024 at St. Vincent's Hospital after an extended illness. She was born September 24, 1941to the late Alfonso F. Britt and Edna Jewell Wheeler Britt. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brother-in-laws, Roger Boatright, Bill Laite and Wayne Jones.

Mrs. Cona was a member of Alma First Baptist Church. She was retired from the Alma Housing Authority.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Alton Phinizy "Buster" Meeks, Jr; two children, Alton Britt Meeks (Sandy) of Waycross and Sarah Thornton of Alma; three grandchildren, Alton Blake Meeks (Anna), Taylor Renea Thornton and Julia Katherine Griffin (Gunner); one great-grandchild; a sister, Joy Boatright of Alma; two sister-in-laws, Marilyn Laite and Terry Jones  and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Pastor Owen Atha and Pastor Wayne Woods. Interment will be private. The family will be receiving friends at First Baptist Church Saturday from 12:00 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Shane Howell, Ricky Gilliard, Ben Lott, Jack Johnson, Sammy Boatright, Nathan Boatright, J. T. Taylor, Ricky Altman, Jerry Boatright, Joe Boatright, Jack  Wildes and Mike Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be First Baptist Church Women's Sunday School Class, Sylvia Sears, Miriam Williams and Linda Boatright.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
