Cora Lee Martin, age 96, formally of Alma passed away September 15th at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia. She was a native of Bacon County but had lived in Quitman the past 14 years. Cora was daughter of the late Solomon Edward Lee and Georgia Bell Lee Lee; was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Mutt" Martin, three brothers, Coleman, Corbitt and Dewitt Lee and two sisters, Goldie Taylor and Maxine Pugh. She was a member of Old Pine Grove New Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Van Mitchell Martin (Maxine) of Waynesboro, GA. and Edgar Royal Martin of Lovett, Fl, five grandchildren, William Roger Martin of Waynesboro, GA., Danielle Martin of Brunswick, GA., Lori Ferguson of Buford, SC, Lisa Mourfield of Evans, GA. and Scott Davis of Marietta, GA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18th at 11:00 AM at Old Pine Grove Church with Rev. Randy Cox and Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Old Pine Grove Church 132 Pine Grove LN. Alma, Ga. 31510
Active pallbearers will be; David Lee, David Rideout, Tony Lee, John Ferguson, Peter Mourfield and Bill Hyers. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
