Corman Dewey Jordan, age 86, of Alma passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He son of the late George Jordan and Sarah Hyers Jordan and preceded in death by a brother, Palmer Jordan and a sister, Lavelle Meeks and a great-grandson, Jackson Noles
He was an Insurance Agent for many years, part owner and manager of Alma Ford Tractor, served on the City Council for many years and was the former Mayor of Alma. He was a member of the Alma Masonic Lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alma; Corman also an avid fisherman, he loved the Lord, his family and his community.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sue Flowers Jordan of Alma, two daughters, Felicia Jordan of Alma and Lori Jordan Johnson (Buddy) of Mobile, AL., one sister, Christine Bagley of Alma, three grandchildren, Bryan Noles, Garrett, Hodges (Kala) of Alma and Jordan Johnson of Mobile, AL. and four great-grandchildren, Zachery Noles, Kayne, Kanon and Kruz Hodges of Alma and many nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 28th at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Edmund Thrift and Rev. Mark Barth officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Bill and Edward Jordan, Rodney Carter, Johnny Waters and Jerry Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be; First Baptist Church Big Brothers Sunday School Class and all others in attendance.
