Dale Lygree "Buddy Cobb" Taylor, age 76, of Alma passed away August 22, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 11, 1947 in Bacon County to the late Elmer Taylor and Goldie Lee Taylor. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Judy Bagley Taylor; three brothers, Elbridge Manning Taylor, Gordon Taylor and Roger Lee.

Buddy was drafted into the US Army in 1966 to serve in the Vietnam War. He earned a sharp shooter badge and was part of the 1st Cavalry Division (Air Mobile) where he was a aircraft hydraulics repairman stationed at Camp Radcliff near An Khe in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

He worked for many years as a sewing machine mechanic in Alma, Patterson, and Waycross.

Survivors include three children, Laurie Taylor Ponsell (Jody), Lisa Taylor Tomberlin (David) and Scottie Taylor all of Waycross; six grandchildren, Liz Hutto, Drew Ponsell, Bailey Williams, Luke Ponsell, Brent Tomberlin and Emma Tomberlin; two great-grandchildren, Loretta and Lilah Tomberlin; two sisters, Linda Kaye Taylor of Fernandina Beach and Rugena Taylor Penor (Joe) of Nicholls and caregiver, Donna Daughtry.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Delk and Rev. Mike Lee officiating. The family will be receiving friends Saturday at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be; Ridge Lee, Colon Taylor, Chad Lee, Steven Lee, Michael Medders and Jim Bagley. Honorary pallbearers will b; Bacon County Class of 1965, Benny Carter, Dorsey Wade, Ronnie Smith and Roger Holland.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
