Daniel "Danny" Boatright, age 74, of Alma passed away December 2, 2023 at Memorial Health in Savannah after an extended illness. He was born in Bacon County to the late Quitman Boatright and Margurite Padgett Boatright. Mr. Boatright was a 1966 graduate of Bacon County High School.

Mr. Boatright served in the National Guard. He was retired from  Teaching at the Bacon County School System after 30 years of service where he was also the Basketball Coach for many years.

Survivors include his wife, of 55 years, Judy Stewart Boatright; two children, Daniel "Bo" Boatright and Brandy Boatright Smith (Randall); three grandchildren, Destiny Smith, J.R. Smith and Mark Smith and three sisters, Jeanine Lamb (Del), Joan Herrington (G.C.) and Pam Baldwin (James).

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Alma First Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery.

The family will be receiving family and friends Tuesday (December 5, 2023) at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be J. R. Smith, Mark Smith, Russel Beasley, Timothy Holmes, Neiko Lee and Mitch Herrington. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
