Daniel I. Miles, age 52, of Baxley died suddenly Tuesday morning August 21, 2012 at his home. He was a native of Hawaii but had lived in Baxley most of his life. He was son of the late Floyd Miles and was also preceded in death by a brother, Reuben Miles and a sister Melinda Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Denise Denner Miles of Baxley, his mother, Patsy Chavis Dyson of Millwood, GA., his step mother, Coleen Miles of Baxley, a son Daniel Reuben Miles (Loretta) of Baxley, two daughters, Daphne Thomas (Jerome) of Baxley, Debbie Rushing (Jason) of Surrency, two brothers, Michael Miles of New Mexico, Fred Miles of Baxley, a sister Susan Hutchinson (Jamie) of Baxley. Also, six grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Miles Chapel Church in Appling County with Rev. Doug Weisel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6:00 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 P M Thursday to lie in state.
