Daniel M. Padgett, Sr., age 70, of Alma passed away suddenly June 3, 2024 at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late E.D. Padgett and Myrtice Pittman Leggett. Besides his parents he was preceded in death his wife Shirley Fisher Padgett and two brothers, Donnie Padgett and David Padgett.

Mr. Daniel was a member of Coffee Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include three children, Daniel M. Padgett, Jr. (Ashley) of Oneida, TN, Lee Hawkins of LaGrange, GA. and Brandon Pittman of Alabama; four grandchildren, Drew Hawkins (Sally), Christina Benitez (Jorge) of LaGrange, GA, Lucas Padgett of North Carolina and Jayden Wade of Alma;  five great grandchildren, step children, Michelle, Taylor, Nicole and Lindsey; step grandchildren Jeremy Taylor, Rachel Hamilton, Myranda Cothern, Sarah Cothern and Cody Cothern; two sisters, Mary Henry of Green Cove Springs, FL and Kay Lane (Harry) of Blackshear; several step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday (June 6, 2024) at 11:00 at Coffee Wesleyan Church in Mershon, GA.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
