Darrell C. Boatright, Sr., age 87, of Alma passed away Monday, February 16th at the Bacon county Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Jessie Boatright and Adie Carter Boatright. Darrell was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Lee, ten brothers, Tinon, Delman, Junior, W. F., Edsel, J. E., Richard, Gary and Russell Boatright and Larry Carter and stepmother, Goldie Boatright. He was a member of Alma Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Carolyn Johnson Boatright of Alma, a son, Darrell Boatright, Jr. (Marsena) of Alma, two daughters, Carol Wildes (Charles) of Alma and LeGena White of Jacksonville, FL., one brother, Joey Boatright of Cadwell, Ga., four sisters, Betty Woods of Fort Myers, FL., June Robertson and Kay Boatright of Athens, Ga. and Sue Ledger of Winder, Ga.; also two grand children, Rachel Beasley (Zach) of Tupelo, MS. and Lance White of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 19th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Edmund Thrift officiating and eulogy given by June Robertson. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11:30 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Keith Boatright, Roy T. Boatright, Tim Carter, Charles Wildes, Winston Miles, Dr. Jim McQuaig and Dan Boatright. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
