David John Sundberg, age 71, passed away April 23, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA, after a short illness. He was born in Spokane, Washington August 07,1954, to the late Lawrence Sundberg and Gladys Covell Sundberg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Sundberg; and his sisters, Janet MacCulloch and Casey Prock.

He served in the United States Navy. He attended Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church for several years. He retired from the Washington State Road Department after many years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Judy Douglas Sundberg; daughter, Rachel Matheny of Centralia, Washington; sons, Josh Sundberg (Carla) of Tenino, Washington and Brian Sundberg (Shelby) of Olympia, Washington; one granddaughter, Anna Matheny; brother-in-law, Tom Douglas of Portland, TN; sisters-in-law, Jan Thomas (Jesse) and Joan McCarty (David), both of Alma; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held Monday April 27, 2026, at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church at 2 PM with Rev. Wayne Miracle and Rev. Michael McClintock officiating.
