Derek Eugene Ross, age 57, of Alma passed away August 11, 2019 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He was son of the late Rev. Edgar Eugene Ross.

Derek served in the U. S. Navy during the Gulf War and was a member of the Alma Church God.

Survivors include his wife Michelle Hall Ross of Alma, mother and step father, Wanda and Buddy Bowen of Blackshear, GA., children, Joshua Ross (Kelly),, Zachary Ross (Michelle), Jordan Ross (Ashley) of Kingsland, GA., Dustin Ross  Morris (Abby) and Sophia Ross Morris of Tifton, GA., brother Tracy Ross of Blackshear, GA., sisters Sherry Peavy (Travis) of Alma, GA., Deborah Bartlett (Richard) of Stockbridge, GA. and 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16 ^th at 2:00 PM at the Alma Church of God with Pastor Travis Peavy, Pastor Richard Bartlett and Pastor Matt Peavy officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church Friday from 1:00 PM until funeral time.  Interment will follow in Axson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Tray and Tyler Ross, Jeremiah Bartlett, Rev. Matthew Peavy, Jame Lewis and Phil Carver. Honorary pallbearer will be: Danny Carter.
