Derrick Alton Taylor, age 48, of Nicholls passed away May 2, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after a short illness.
Derrick was a member of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church and was employed with CSX Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gail Murray Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Holly Dawn Yawn Taylor of Alma; two children, Halston Derrick Taylor (Haley) and Olivia Grace Taylor of Alma; one grandchild, Emory Raine Taylor; his father, Barney A. Taylor of Alma and sister, Amy Gail Williams (Craig) of Soperton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Callahan and Rev. Greg Delk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church Friday from 12:30 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be; Scotty Cothren, Scott Taylor, Jamie Taylor, Jeremy Curtis, Casey Mack Oliver and Craig Williams. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
