DeVera "Bea" Anderson, age 85, of Alma died at her home early Saturday morning July 15th, 2017 after an extended illness. She was a native of Appling County but had lived in Bacon County since 1950, was daughter of the late Coy Rentz and Avril Dorsey Rentz and was also preceded in death by a son Sherman Anderson, daughter-in-law Sherry Farmer Anderson, two sisters Dorothy Blanton and Lois Peeples Bea worked several years as Clerk/Secretary with Farmers Home Administration and was a member of Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years Maynard C. Anderson of Alma, a son Mark Anderson and wife Jackie of Darien, GA, a brother Talmadge Rentz (Betty) of Baxley, a granddaughter Samantha Keene Anderson of Phoenix, AZ and a step-grand-son Justin Hurd of Darien, GA.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hutcherson officiating. Granddaughter Samantha Anderson will deliver a eulogy. Interment will follow in Douglas Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 8 P M.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Taylor, Jimmy Nobles, Johnny Nobles, Roger Johnson, Jimmy McCall and Justin Hurd. Members of the Douglas Chapel Baptist Church Ladies
Sunday Class will service as honorary escort.
